My Program
The OTher Side of Play's ADHD Solutions is an evidenced-based 8-week program designed to help you understand ADHD and how to manage it for long term success. I work with children, adolescents, teenagers and parents so that the whole family has a better grasp on the management of ADHD symptoms. I'm sure that some of you are here because it seems like nothing you've tried has really helped. It can all become overwhelming. ADHD Solutions will help you one week, one lesson at a time. Each week, we'll meet and delve into topics ranging from the biology of ADHD to establishing practical daily routines. During our weekly meetings, I will personalize information to meet your needs and will be available for any questions that arise. My goal is to equip you with the knowledge and skills your child needs to thrive with ADHD, to work with it rather than against it and to help your family restore joy. Module 1 / Week 1
Brain Anatomy
Week one of my course consist of two lessons to help gain understanding of the brain and how it isn’t operating as well with executive functioning and pre-frontal cortex development (or lack thereof ). The second lesson will focus on neurotransmitters of the brain. This will also help parents and the child to learn about the importance of dopamine, and how the imbalance of neurotransmitters affects their behavior.
Module 2 / Week 2
Visual System and Primitive Reflexes
Week two focusses on understanding the importance of the Visual System and Primitive Reflexes and improve visual function. You will learn about visual memory and visual motor skills and how it impacts behavior, school, and everyday performance. We will also work together to assess and pinpoint what primitive reflexes have been retained (if any) and which reflexes need to be better integrated.
Module 3 / Week 3
Sensory System
Week three we will learn about sensory modulation and regulation. We will establish a personalized sensory diet to regulate mood and behavior by decreasing anxiety, tantrums/aggression, regulating anger, and improving frustration tolerance.
Module 4 / Week 4
Environmental Factors
Week three we will focus on sleeping habits, diet, and exercise. Helping the parent and child to better understand the science and benefits of exercise on the brain, design an appropriate sleep schedule for the child's age, and learn about the benefits/risks of certain foods while learning the most nutritious foods for improved attention and regulation.
Module 5 / Week 5
Cerebellum
Week five we focus on understanding the role and importance of the cerebellum and the impact it has on your child and family while applying the information to your daily routine.
Module 6 / Week 6
Regulation & Behavior
Week six, we focus on understanding how to use vagus nerve stimulation to minimize family stressors and improve happiness. Address your child’s approach and steps to learning visualization to decrease anxiety and maximize peace of mind while
establishing a simple routine to improve confidence in your child's day-to-day.
Module 7 / Week 7
Executive Function
Week 6 we acknowledge and review the foundation we've built and move toward tips and tricks for applying to different skills across the lifespan. We will learn how to outsmart yourself, and help your child lock into their hyper focused super power.
Module 8 / Week 8
Co-regulation
Our final week of the program is designed specifically for parents to learn the power and influence they have over their child’s ADHD symptoms with use of co-regulation. Together we will create a personalized program for tips and strategies within the home.
